CABLE ONE INVESTS $20 MILLION TO ENHANCE SERVICE IN FARGO AREA
May 4, 2015 – Fargo,ND — Cable ONE is working to better serve its Fargo area customers by investing nearly $3.5 million in 2015 in technology, equipment, and infrastructure upgrades which will provide Cable ONE customers with enhanced speed and reliability in their Internet, cable, and phone service. Over the past five years, Cable ONE has invested more than $16 million in Fargo.
”We're committed to delivering the best possible experience to our customers,” said Cable ONE General Manager Scott Geston. “We're confident that this investment will ensure that our customers will receive superior service in the speed, reliability, and overall performance of our services.”
The company recently completed an upgrade which included tripling the capacity of its High Speed Data equipment, adding additional circuit capacity to its fiber backbone, and the installation of two new CMTS’s. Other upgrades coming this year include the replacement of 52,000 feet of cable with larger capacity cable and the installation of 21 new nodes – upgrades which will reinforce the company’s infrastructure and enhance service. Cable ONE also plans to expand business services in new service areas.
“In addition to improving reliability, we’re continuing to expand our services to provide our customers with the latest products and technical advancements,” Geston said. “We recently converted to All Digital service, which means we were able to launch 40 new channels in March, including a number of new HD channels. All Digital service will also improve picture quality and allow us to deliver faster internet speeds.”
Cable ONE recently increased Internet upload and download speeds on its Premier and Ultra plans as a free upgrade to new and existing Internet customers in Fargo. Customers on Cable ONE’s Premier 60Mbps plan were automatically upgraded to 75Mbps download and 5Mbps upload speeds, and customers on the Ultra 70Mbps plan were automatically upgraded to 100 Mbps download and 10Mbps upload speeds.
