Gigabit FAQ

What is Gigabit Internet?
GIGABIT is Sparklight’s newest, ultra-fast Internet service. Sparklight’s network has been upgraded to gigabit speeds capable of up to 1,000Mbps download and up to 50Mbps upload. GIGABIT is $125/month and includes a 1,500GB Data Plan.
Who can get it?
Sparklight is rolling out GIGABIT nationwide to our residential customers. All neighborhoods in a GIGABIT community can get this service — we’re not limiting service to specific areas. We’re working hard to upgrade your area.
What kind of wired speeds will I get?
We're confident you?ll love GigaONE speeds. However, GigaONE service may be faster than your computer and network?s capability. Old equipment and connections often run at speeds slower than a gigabit. Customers who have optimum hardware and connections should expect wired speed tests in excess of 500Mbps on a Sparklight speed test site.
What kind of wifi speeds will I get?
The speeds of our GigaONE service are greater than what today?s WiFi systems can deliver. The speeds you?ll actually receive vary based on the type of WiFi protocol (G/N/AC), the device being used to access the Internet, and the distance between the WiFi antenna and your device.

Samples of the maximum speeds certain devices can obtain via WiFi:

Iphone 4, 4S, Galaxy S3

32Mbps

Iphone 5, 5s, 5C, Galaxy S4

90Mbps

Iphone 6, 6S, Galaxy S5, S6
