Internet speeds and technology advance quickly and it’s important to ensure your modem is keeping up with your Sparklight internet service.

Before purchasing a new modem, ensure it is compatible with your internet speed. Below is an up-to-date list of supported modems that have been certified to work on Sparklight's fiber-fueled network. An advantage of renting your equipment through Sparklight is that we manage firmware updates to ensure your equipment is up to date and working at its best.

If you'd rather not purchase new equipment, Sparklight offers compatible modems for lease.

For a limited time, when you add a leased modem to your account you can get 12 months at half price!*

After 12 months your modem will be charged at the standard rate, currently $12.50/mo.

WHY AM I BEING ASKED TO REPLACE MY EQUIPMENT?
As internet speeds and technology advance, it’s important to ensure your modem is keeping up with your Sparklight internet service. We notify our customers when we notice they are using a device that does not fully support their Sparklight internet speed. We want to ensure your service is working at its best.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I DON'T REPLACE MY MODEM? WILL MY INTERNET STILL WORK?
If you choose not to replace your modem at this time, your internet will work however, it may not provide optimal service. We recommend you update your modem to continue enjoying surfing and streaming at optimal speeds.
SHOULD I BUY OR RENT MY MODEM?
When you lease your modem from Sparklight you don’t have to manage compatibility or software updates. If your Sparklight equipment stops working, we’ll typically replace it free of charge. Additionally, if or when the Sparklight modem and router become obsolete, we’ll also typically upgrade your modem for no additional charge.
HOW DO I IMPROVE MY WIFI SIGNAL?
Place your modem in an open area. Find a raised spot, away from other electronics. Click here for more tips to make the most of your WiFi experience.
