Sparklight Selects Boise Non-Profit CATCH to Receive $5,000 Donation



Aug. 20, 2020 – Boise, Idaho – Boise non-profit organization CATCH has been selected as one of three non-profits impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic to receive a $5,000 donation from Sparklight, as part of the company’s Up for Any Challenge campaign.

CATCH works to create a safe, healthy and connected community by embracing Housing First best practices, empowering those without housing, building collaborative partnerships, and increasing public understanding to end homelessness. Due to the pandemic, the organization has seen a 25 percent increase in the need for housing services.

“Sparklight is committed to giving back to the communities we serve, and we are both honored and humbled to support CATCH in its mission to end homelessness in the Treasure Valley,” said Celynda Roach, Sparklight’s Senior General Manager in Boise.

According to its contest entry, CATCH currently has 202 families waiting for services through its Our Path Home waitlist. The organization will be able to use the $5,000 donation to end homelessness for one family.

“Housing is healthcare and Sparklight just made home a reality for another family,” said Stephanie Day, Executive Director of CATCH. “We have seen a huge increase in families experiencing homelessness in the last several months due to COVID-19, and Sparklight's grant will get one of those families back into safe and stable housing where they can quarantine and access the internet and a computer for online schooling for the children."
