Sparklight® Donates 20 New HP Laptops to Boys & Girls Clubs

of the Gulf Coast Qatar Center in Pass Christian

Oct. 21, 2021 – Pass Christian, Miss. In an effort to help close the homework gap for students in South Mississippi, Sparklight® recently donated 20 new HP laptops valued at $24,000 to the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Gulf Coast Qatar Center in Pass Christian.

 

“We know the key to success starts with a solid education and having access to technology is crucial for children to reach their goals in school and beyond,” said Adrienne Davis, Unit Director of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Gulf Coast Qatar Center in Pass Christian. “We are thankful to Sparklight for the donation of these laptops, which will further enable us to positively impact the education of students through after school help, tutoring and more.”   

 

Boys & Girls Clubs of the Gulf Coast Qatar Center in Pass Christian is one of six clubs serving more than 5,500 children annually in Harrison and Hancock counties. The Club works to save and change the lives of children and teens ages 4-18 by providing a safe, positive, engaging environment, and specialized programs like S.T.E.A.M. Maker Space Studios, sports leagues, and music recording studios that prepare and inspire them to achieve great futures and 21st Century careers.

 

“Now more than ever, access to technology is imperative for students to be able to do their homework or access remote learning during the pandemic,” said Charlie Oakes, Sparklight Gulfport General Manager. “By donating 20 new HP laptops, we’re helping provide the students who attend Pass Christian’s Boys & Girls Club after school and on weekends the opportunity to use technology that will support their academic success and prepare them for an increasingly digital workforce.”
