Sparklight Awards $5,000 Charitable Giving Fund to The Salvation Army of Bartlesville
BARTLESVILLE, Okla. (Aug. 6, 2026) — Bartlesville families in need will be able to remain safely housed thanks to a $5,000 grant from leading internet and mobile provider Sparklight® to The Salvation Army of Bartlesville. Awarded through the Sparklight Charitable Giving Fund, the grant will help provide emergency rent and utility assistance to residents experiencing financial hardship.
During its recent grant cycle, Sparklight awarded more than $125,000 in grants to 28 nonprofit organizations across the cities and towns it serves. By investing in programs that support children and families, address food insecurity, expand educational opportunities and build critical life skills, the funding is helping improve lives and strengthen local communities.
“A safe, stable home provides the foundation families need to move forward,” said Kenny Walker, Sparklight Senior Regional Director, South Central. “The Salvation Army of Bartlesville helps neighbors navigate difficult times with compassion and support, and we’re proud to invest in a program that helps keep families safely housed.”
The Salvation Army of Bartlesville said the grant will help prevent housing instability for more community members in need.
“Sparklight’s generous grant allows us to step in when families need it most,” said Luke Swain, The Salvation Army of Bartlesville Commanding Officer. “A missed rent or utility payment can quickly lead to a much bigger crisis. With Sparklight’s support, we’ll be able to help more of our neighbors remain safely housed and focused on building a stronger future.”
Sparklight’s Charitable Giving Fund focuses on initiatives that create lasting, local impact, including education and digital literacy, hunger relief and community development. Since the Fund’s inception in 2020, Sparklight has awarded more than $1.3 million in grants to more than 300 nonprofits that make a difference in the lives of those they serve.
Nonprofit organizations may apply for a grant during open application periods each spring and fall. Applications for the fall 2026 cycle will be accepted Oct. 1‒31, 2026.
