Sparklight Awards $3,000 Charitable Giving Fund Grant to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Permian Basin
ODESSA, Texas (July 28, 2026) – Local youth will get a head start on career planning thanks to a $3,000 grant from leading internet and mobile provider Sparklight® to the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Permian Basin. The Charitable Giving Fund grant will help fund Motivation Monday, a dynamic summer initiative that provides mentorship and promotes workforce readiness.
During its recent grant cycle, Sparklight awarded more than $125,000 in grants to 28 nonprofit organizations across the cities and towns it serves. By investing in programs that support children and families, address food insecurity, expand educational opportunities and build critical life skills, the funding is helping improve lives and strengthen local communities.
“Inspiring youth to discover their strengths is one of the best investments we can make in our community,” said Jay Macleod, Sparklight Senior Regional Director, Southwest. “We’re proud to help the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Permian Basin create meaningful connections that help their members prepare for success in school, the workforce and beyond.”
Boys & Girls Clubs of the Permian Basin leaders said Sparklight’s support will help connect local youth with mentors and meaningful learning experiences.
“We are grateful to Sparklight for investing in the future of our young members,” said Andra Jones, Boys & Girls Clubs of the Permian Basin Executive Director. “Many teens have limited opportunities to interact with professionals outside their immediate circles. Motivation Monday helps bridge that gap by introducing students to business leaders and other role models who can broaden their horizons, build their confidence and help them envision their future.”
Sparklight’s Charitable Giving Fund focuses on initiatives that create lasting, local impact, including education and digital literacy, hunger relief and community development. Since the Fund’s inception in 2020, Sparklight has awarded more than $1.3 million in grants to more than 300 nonprofits that make a difference in the lives of those they serve.
Nonprofit organizations may apply for a grant during open application periods each spring and fall. Applications for the fall 2026 cycle will be accepted Oct. 1‒31, 2026.
