Sparklight Awards $5,000 Charitable Giving Fund Grant to Ada Regional United Way
ADA, Okla. (June 24, 2026) — Families across southeastern Oklahoma will receive support as they prepare for the new school year through a $5,000 grant from Sparklight® to the Ada Regional United Way. Awarded through the Sparklight Charitable Giving Fund, the grant will help provide backpacks, school supplies, shoes and meals to students and families attending the nonprofit’s annual back-to-school community event.
During its recent grant cycle, Sparklight awarded more than $125,000 in grants to 28 nonprofit organizations across the cities and towns it serves. By investing in programs that support children and families, address food insecurity, expand educational opportunities and build critical life skills, the funding is helping improve lives and strengthen local communities.
“Ada Regional United Way makes a meaningful difference for families throughout southeastern Oklahoma,” said Kenny Walker, Sparklight Senior Regional Director, South Central. “We’re proud to support this event, which helps ease back-to-school expenses and ensures students begin the school year with the tools and confidence they need to succeed.”
Ada Regional United Way leaders said the grant will help the organization ease financial pressures on local families.
“Back-to-school expenses can place a significant strain on already tight household budgets,” said Oriana McElwee, Ada Regional United Way Executive Director. “Sparklight’s generous grant will help us provide essential supplies for hundreds of local students, reducing the burden on parents so they can focus on their students’ learning and growth.”
Sparklight’s Charitable Giving Fund focuses on initiatives that create lasting, local impact, including education and digital literacy, hunger relief and community development. Since the Fund’s inception in 2020,
Sparklight has awarded more than $1.3 million in grants to more than 300 nonprofits that make a difference in the lives of those they serve.
