CABLE ONE, VIACOM CONTRACT TO EXPIRE MARCH 31

March 24, 2014 – Phoenix,AZ — Cable ONE President and CEO Tom Might issued the following statement to customers regarding current contract negotiations with Viacom.

“We are currently in negotiations with Viacom to continue carrying their 15 networks (BET, Centric, CMT, Comedy Central, MTV, MTV2, MTV Hits, Nickelodeon, Nick Jr., Nick Teen, Nick Toons, Spike, TV LAND, VH-1, and VH-1 Classic) after our contract expires on March 31.

I’d like to take a moment to bring you up to date, since the final agreement may impact your monthly bill, and without an agreement, your channel line-up will change.

In spite of our repeated requests, Viacom avoided negotiating a new contract with Cable ONE for the past two months. This significantly jeopardizes the chance of a mutually satisfactory agreement.

In the few days left, we will negotiate with determination and in good faith in order to strike the best possible deal for our customers – whether that is negotiating a fair rate or dropping some of their less popular networks and carrying only the ones you really watch.

We deeply appreciate your loyalty and patience, and as always, it is our goal to deliver the shows you enjoy, at a price that makes sense to your family.

Please visit StopProgrammingHikes.com to let us know your thoughts and for continuing updates on these negotiations.”
