CABLE ONE AWARDS JOPLIN HIGH SCHOOL MATH DEPARTMENT $3,000 FOR ROBOTS
April 30, 2019 – Joplin,MO— Schools and organizations serving K-12 students in communities across the 21 states served by Cable ONE recently had the opportunity to win $3,000 to fund their technology project or club as part of the Cable ONE "Dream Bigger" social media campaign.
Among the five winners is the Joplin High School Math department, which will use the funds to purchase Sphero Bolt Robots, providing students with a hands-on opportunity to apply lessons in calculus, trigonometry, geometry and algebra.
"I am humbled and honored that Cable ONE chose to invest in Joplin Schools," said Brian Hancock, who submitted the entry on behalf of the JHS Math department. "Their investment will allow us to implement STEM learning opportunities in our high school math program. I look forward to the excitement, the learning, and even the fun that will come from the use of the Sphero BOLT robots that this money will buy. Cable ONE officials presented the check to Joplin High School staff and students at the school on Thursday, May 2.
