CABLE ONE AND HISTORY PARTNER TO HONOR VETERANS

November 5, 2012 – Phoenix,AZ — Cable One has organized special events in communities in both Texas and Mississippi as part of HISTORY’s Take a Veteran to School Day outreach initiative in honor of Veterans Day. Honored veteran guests are invited to attend these events to share their stories with middle school children and receive a heartfelt "thank you" for their service.

Take a Veteran to School Day is HISTORY’s premiere public affairs outreach program, launched in 2007 to connect veterans from all walks of life with students in schools and communities nationwide. In 2012, more than 5,000 schools in all 50 states are expected to participate. As part of this campaign, HISTORY offers participating schools curriculum-based educational materials at www.veterans.com, as well as a Veterans Day video produced with the US Department of Education - all provided free-of-charge.

Cable One is thrilled to participate in this initiative, which will not only bring history to life for middle school children, but will honor our local veterans as well – including a Cable One associate who served in Afghanistan and still serves in the Reserves,” said Cable One General Kenny Walker.

"We are so pleased to working with Cable One to honor veterans in this community," said Dr. Libby O'Connell, Chief Historian and SVP, Corporate Outreach for HISTORY. "As part of this program, students will not only learn about Veterans Day, but they will also learn important life lessons about service and commitment. And in the process, the veterans will receive a well-deserved thank you from all of us."
