RIO RANCHO, N.M. (Nov. 24, 2025) – Sparklight®, Rio Rancho’s hometown internet provider, is hosting a food drive to benefit St. Felix Pantry. The initiative aims to address local food insecurity and increased need by area families this holiday season.

Donations will be collected Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., now through Tuesday, Dec. 2 (closed Thanksgiving) at Sparklight’s retail location at 7501 Nita Place NE in Rio Rancho.

The initiative will culminate in a free barbecue at Sparklight from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Dec. 2 – the National Day of Giving – where all community members are invited to gather, donate and celebrate the season of giving. All collected items will be presented to St. Felix Pantry, along with a $1,500 donation from Sparklight through its recent Refer-A-Friend Connections That Matter campaign. The company’s Refer-A-Friend program rewards customers for helping expand access to high-speed internet in their communities. Through the program, both the referring customer and their friend will receive a $50 prepaid card when the friend signs up for Sparklight internet and remains connected for 30 days.

Most-needed donations items include:

  • Dried beans and rice
  • Canned beans and vegetables
  • Pasta and pasta sauce
  • Canned fish and meats
  • Peanut butter
  • Boxed macaroni and cheese
  • Dried fruit and nuts
  • Instant mashed potatoes
  • Canned soups and stews

“At Sparklight, we believe no one should have to worry about where their next meal will come from — especially during the holidays,” said Jay Macleod, Sparklight Senior Regional Director, Southwest. “We’re honored to support St. Felix Pantry and help strengthen the communities we serve.”

Sparklight has a long history of supporting nonprofit organizations across its 24-state service area through food drives, donations, volunteerism and grants from its Charitable Giving Fund.
