What Internet Speed do I need?
To determine the best internet speed for your household’s streaming and gaming needs, consider the number of users and devices, types of activities, and overall usage patterns. For HD streaming, at least 5 Mbps per stream minimum, while 4K streaming may require 25 Mbps or more. Online gaming typically needs 25 Mbps or more for multiplayer games. Sparklight offers plans with speeds up to 100 Mbps, 300 Mbps, 600 Mbps, and 1 Gbps. Basic usage for 1-2 users can work with 100 Mbps, moderate use for 3-4 users may need 300 Mbps, and heavy use for 5+ users or multiple devices should aim for 600 Mbps or higher. Individuals who work from home should consider a 1 Gbps plan, especially for activities like video calls and live streaming. Some other plans we offer in select markets provide speeds of 500 Mbps, 1.5 Gbps, 2 Gbps, 3 Gbps, and 6 Gbps.
